Alaco has just returned from the Riga Conference, an annual invitation-only summit which brings together senior politicians, businessmen and academics to address foreign policy and international security issues. This year, keynote speakers included Latvian President Raimonds Vejonis and former NATO Secretary General Anders Rasmussen.
The themes addressed were numerous and included shaping NATO’s policy in Europe and Southeast Asia, the prospects of economic growth in the European Union, and a debate on how to bring more dynamism into the Eastern Partnership programme.
