Alaco attended the Financial Conduct Authority’s Financial Crime Conference in London on 1st July 2013.
Senior management from the FCA, the National Crime Agency (NCA), HM Treasury and the European Commission presented on a range of subjects. The speakers and the follow-on discussion panels covered topics such as the FCA’s increased emphasis on enforcement actions, the recent findings of the FCA’s thematic review into trade finance, commitments made at the G8 summit by the UK government to improve corporate transparency, the goals and objectives of the NCA (scheduled to become operational in October 2013) and the European Commission's forthcoming Fourth Directive on Money Laundering.
