Alaco is looking for linguists to join its Analyst team, at both Analyst and Senior Analyst levels. Candidates with strong Russian, Italian, Spanish, French, or Portuguese language skills are preferred.
Successful candidates will be expected to involve themselves in all aspects of investigative research and will be responsible for presenting reports of their findings, under the supervision of a case manager. A high level of inquisitiveness, critical thinking and attention to detail is required, as is the ability to collate information from multiple sources and communicate a narrative clearly, on paper and in discussion. Although usually working as part of a team, Analysts are often relied upon to drive research forward with minimal guidance, demonstrating the ability to solve problems and identify relevant lines of enquiry for themselves.
The roles are varied and interesting. International politics and commerce are at the heart of what we do and applicants should be able to demonstrate a significant appreciation of both. Written reports will form most of your output and good writing skills are essential. As well as a native level of spoken and written English, the ability to read and work with published material in your applicable language(s) to a professional level is expected. Candidates for the Senior Analyst position are likely to have at least two years' relevant experience within the business intelligence industry or another highly comparable role.
Applicants will be assessed via two interviews and a briefing test, conducted online while current health-related restrictions are in place. Language skills are also likely to be tested.
If you would like to apply for either of these positions, please send a CV, together with covering letter and current salary, where applicable, to firstname.lastname@example.org. You must be able to work in the UK without sponsorship.
Due to the high volume of enquiries received, we are unfortunately only able to acknowledge those applications taken forward to interview.
